       His beatitude the Patriarch cardinal Louis Rofael Sako participated in the conference which was arranged by the general union of authors and writers in Iraq/ platform of mind under the slogan (The Carmelite Father pioneer of cultural modernization in Iraq) and in the presence of his assistant bishops Basilios Yaldo and Robert Saeed Jarjees with the participation of Father Albert Hisham assistant editor Nagm Al-Masriq magazine and with the coordination of the Latin archbishopric on the morning of Monday 25 March 2019 in the Cathedral of Mother of Sorrows in Al-Shorja.

  Attended the conference Dr. Raad Fahmi member of Iraqi Parliament and a number of professors, authors, thinkers and the two fathers Noel Farman and Salwan Michael.

   The conference started with the prayer (Our father) and (Al-Fatiha) at the tomb of the Carmelite father in the church of Holy Virgin Mary of the Carmelite fathers in Al-Shorja, and then the conference was started which included:

 A welcoming word, the speech of his beatitude Patriarch Sako, the speech of the general union of authors and writers in Iraq, the speech of The Iraqi Scientific Academy, the speech of the revival heritage and the speech of the deanery of Islamic sciences faculty.

In addition to two discussable sessions about the literary and linguistic efforts of the Carmelite father.

 : During the conference his Beatitude Sako delivered a speech contained

 In the beginning I want to greet the general union of authors and writers, the general center in Baghdad for their initiative in organizing this cultural meeting, to immortalize the memory of the Arabic scientist father Anstance Mary the Carmelite.

Gentlemen, my deep thanks for your openness, patriotism and loyalty toward Iraqi figure labeled the Arabic and Iraqi culture with special characteristics. It is sad to say that the openness to the other and accept him and the patriot spirit and loyalty are not popular characteristics in our societies; therefore, we became poor suffering from thought, culture and ethics crisis.

 Respectful gentlemen, you are “the stayed rest” which carry the light and hope to better tomorrow. You are the intellectual elite which are relied on to be a positive power after the manner of father Anstance the Carmelite, Mustafa Jawad, Mahmood Shukri Al-Alusi, Mahmed Bahja Al-Athree, the historian Abd Al-Hameed Abada, Hiba Al-Deen Al-Shahristani, Yousif Rizq Allah Ganeema, Rofael Buti and the Sheik Jalal Al-Hanafi and others from the thinkers of Baghdad and its intellectuals

Father Anstance Mary the Carmelite, Arabian-Iraqi prominent figure and his divan testifies that: a divan for exchanging the opinions frankly and courageously and without courtesies through the cultural and calm dialogue for the sake of reaching to mutual areas among the interested in thought, culture, literature, motherland and humans, depending on the concept of avoiding the religious and political arguments. He called it The Divan Of Friday holds in a Christian monastery and not The Divan Of Sunday believing that God is neither Muslim nor Christian, but He is the creator of all, the father of all and He is for all; therefore his time was the time of opening and now we returned back because of the dark thought who makes

them apostates, traitors, and kills and dismisses the others

 He was haunted by the professors of Arabic language at that period. They were relying on mind and analysis and not the inherited transmission; therefore, they were creative. But today most people search for what they gain and the best proof is the disaster of the ferry in Mosel where there were more than 120 victims, or depending on “the digital culture” which is the image and short text through the social media which invaded the world and made the people rarely read, write and invent which formed a danger on the culture generally

Father Anstance composed important books and serious and scientific researches about Arabic language and most of them are still as scripts did not see the light. And he issued two magazines and a newspaper. And the magazine “The Tongue of Arab” which was issued in 1911 AC distinguished with its literary and historical researches

Father Anstance asked for the linguistic correction and preserving the Arabic language correct. And he composed a lexicon called it (The Helper) he says about the cause of composing it: “since we started understanding the Arabic well, we found while reading from the books of the seniors, juniors and coevals many expressions and several sides have no trace in the books of language. Therefore, we found in the classifications of our ancestors a vivid lack, so we began from that time filling the gap. And this book was not printed until 1972 where the first volume from it was issued

We thank God that the Carmelite father gained the respect of many corporations, and Arabic and international academies: so, he was elected as a member in the German Oriental Academy in 1911 and in the Arabic Scientific Academy in Damascus in 1920 and in the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo in 1932

And I want to finish my speech by these two verses of the poetry of Ahmed Hamid Al-Saraf which commiserated him

Our mosques besides the churches          our turbans besides the mitres

And we lived and lived during the timeour country        and the people will live in union with them                                                                                         

And the following is the final statement of the conference and its recommendations

With the honor of his beatitude the patriarch cardinal Mar Louis Rofael Sako and solemn clergymen and respectful professors and intellectuals, the general union of authors and writers in Iraq / platform of mind hold, and with the participation of scientific and cultural parts represented by the Ministry Of Culture, monuments and tourism, and The Iraqi Scientific Academy, The Patriarchate Of Chaldean Babylon, The Faculty Of Islamic Sciences and The Center Of Reviving The Arabic Scientific Heritage ,and under the title (The Carmelite Father pioneer of cultural modernization in Iraq) scientific and cultural conference about Father Anstance Mary The Carmelite (1866-1947) and his scientific and cultural efforts and on the openness of the church

The Mother Of Sadness in Baghdad on Monday 25 of March 2019  

There was delivered in the inauguration of the conference the speech of many participated sides followed by two searchable assemblies, the first was about the efforts of the Carmelite Father in the fields of the linguistic, lexiconic and academic studies, while the second assembly was devoted to deal with his accomplishments in the field of cultural and literary studies, and the architectural side of The Carmelite Fathers church in which The Carmelite Father lived most years of his age

The searches of the conference showed the pioneer scientific and intellectual status of The Carmelite Father which fixed him an effective presence in the scientific and cultural scene to be one of the most important intellectuals of Iraq and its scientists from the beginning of The Arabic Reviving Movement in the last of the nineteenth century until the middle of twentieth century, and maybe he is the most prominent one of them by name and the most abundant one of them in that era of the cultural history of Iraq

Father Anstance The Carmelite was and still a scientific and knowledgeable character deserves mentioning and fare praising for his efforts in fixing the pillars of Iraqi, original, contemporary and granting culture

And for the sake that the Father restores his status which he deserves in the sequence of Iraqi cultural history and its movement, so this conference was hold which the participants recommend the following

1- Inviting the governmental parts of high position and its scientific and cultural institutions to work on reviving the memory of the Carmelite Father and his efforts to be this like a custom for thanking the effective, cultural and scientific characters in the course of the Iraqi culture and its different roles

The whole and fast care for the church (The Carmelite Fathers) and putting the real forth for the sake of repairing and returning the taken sites in order to become a prominent and traditional monument because it has a status and history exceeds hundreds of years

Making this conference a yearly tradition sponsored by the Iraqi cultural parts which aim to progress and develop it

 Inviting the involved parts to name the name of The Father Anstance The Carmelite on one of the streets of Baghdad as a gratitude for him and devoting for his immortal remembrance

The Ministry of Culture should reprint the composition of the Carmelite Father and searches about (the scripts of it) in order to be printed in order the several and vast heritage of the Carmelite Father be at the hands of the researchers and studiers who cannot dispense with it

6- Inviting The Ministry Of Education also The Ministry Of Higher Education to insert his name and a profile of his life and the most important of his studies and compositions in the syllabus of its different stages, which will keep his memory alive in the memory of the present and future Iraqi generations

The conference finished by distributing presents for those who participated in its success
